Sustainability:

For the time being, you've got your camp and its members surviving. However, you know that's not going to be enough. Living like nomads and foraging off of the land will only go so far - you'll need to establish permanent ways to produce materials before the temporary supplies run dry.

Unfortunately, the technology required to make these materials is buried under the dust and the ash. One of the challenges of this new world will be rediscovering the old ways.

As soon as you can get away with it, start building laboratories. These are not cheap to create or maintain, but the old adage of "knowledge is power" works here. Not only does each field increase efficiency in one way or another, you gain access to new technologies when certain requirements are met. For example, getting 10 points of research in both Architecture and Recycling will unlock the ability to build recycling plants, thus providing you with a way to mass-produce the disposables your people need so badly.

Consult the manual for all of the requirements for every other technology.

Now that you're able to manufacture disposables, it would certainly be nice to be able to make all the building supplies you need. However, that has to take a backseat for now.

Recap:
-Your goal at this point is to move from foraging to producing.
-You should still be exploring and recruiting to capacity every turn.
-You can accomplish this by building labs and researching new technologies.
-10 points in architecture and recycling will allow you to build recycling plants.
